FINALLY, I finished the JJ Smith 10-Day Green Smoothie Cleanse. All 10 days without cheating or wavering even a little. The 10-Day Green Smoothie Cleanse promises to jump-start your weight loss, increase your energy level, clear your mind, and improve your overall health. The recipes provided in the book are made up of leafy greens and fruits that provide super-nutrients. Prior to starting the cleanse, I had to get the hubby’s buy in. There was absolutely no way I was going to make it through without him as my partner in crime. After many conversations and eating all his favorite foods up to Day 1, he decided to join me in my quest.
Days 1-3 were the absolute worse. I had headaches mainly because of withdrawal from sugar and my Coconut Milk Macchiatos from Starbucks. By day 4, it was pretty much second nature. I got up at 5 am every morning and made our smoothies for the day before getting the kids ready for school. That is the key to this cleanse — preparing all your smoothies for the day in the morning. After getting into a routine and snacking regularly (on fruits and nuts, of course), I experienced no headaches at all! During my 10 days, I was scheduled to fly to D.C., which was canceled after I went through TSA and waking to wake up at 3 am and a child’s birthday party full of sweet temptations.
I made it the full 10 days, how much did I lose? I lost 14 FREAKING POUNDS! That is 14 pounds with no exercise other than running behind two toddlers. Would I do it again? Are you kidding, heck yeah I would do it again. It’s been a couple of days since my 10-day smoothing cleanse ended and I crave the smoothies. I still make them every day and the hubby is still incorporating them daily as well. The hubby had the bright idea of eating chicken wings two days after we finished the cleanse. That was the worst thing we could have done! We both had horrible stomach pains. It was awful and let’s just say I have no desire for anything fried nor breaded.

What do you need to know to do this? You need a pretty good blender. I used a Vitamix and it was well worth the purchase. Start the process by putting the greens in first, blending those for about 30-45 seconds, then add your fruit. The book allows you stevia, I didn’t use it simply because I didn’t trust myself to use the stevia per her direction. Please take before and after photos to track your progress. I did not take photos mainly because I had no faith that I would finish the cleanse but I will take photos for my next challenge. Buy your groceries five days at a time. Now that this is over what next? JJ Smith has a 30-day challenge that Hubby and I are going to jump into next week. We actually enjoyed cleansing together, even the kids actually liked some of the recipes in the book. This time around I am going to work out at least three to five times a week. I need to be fine by anniversary trip to Aruba at the end of May.
