My day started at 5:00 am. My husband, “Jumanji” has drill, military duty, this weekend, so I am single mom today. After seeing him off, getting two sleepy babies dressed and ready, I load up and head off to my side hustle – campaign management. This campaign season has been more stressful than most, and navigating all the moving parts has been difficult. A couple of times today I’ve asked myself, “why am I subjecting myself to this”, especially when I am traipsing through the rain handing out pink slips and completely redoing campaign strategy on the fly, while trying to feed my kids and ensure there are no “potty mishaps”. I have to remember that in all things there must be balance, and I hold fast to the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
